With nearly 20 years of experience in the public relations field, Jennifer has dedicated her career to promoting and marketing local businesses and entrepreneurs. She has also committed significant time in her career to public service, offering strategic digital communications direction to a municipality of 700,000 residents in Durham Region.
Jennifer has pivoted her life and career in numerous ways within the last 12 months to follow her dreams and support the women within her network as they experienced the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She was accepted to Trent University in the fall of 2019 to complete an Honours Degree in Communications; and, in the summer of 2020, she stepped away from the public service to create her own communications agency, Pink Palm MarCom.
The community influencer is a master collaborator, networker, cheerleader and intuitive coach who generously gives her time to mentor numerous women. Her ambition for creative project management has led her to develop a number of business opportunities for herself, including Pink Palm MarCom and a membership-based website, BabesWhoBrand.com.
Her work with the Durham Women’s Network has resulted in many successful events, such as the wellness/business hybrid retreat re:Create 2020 and an annual Holiday Gift Guide encouraging the community to shop local. Since launching in 2019, the group has grown exponentially. High profile partnerships with post-secondary institutions and larger brands, such as Sandals Resorts, are driving future networking initiatives.
What sets Jennifer apart is her collaborative nature. She sees room for all women in all markets. She firmly believes in the strength of finding your business niche and aligning with the right clients, and that competition is an opportunity to learn and grow. Jennifer values being a positive female role model and takes the initiative to mentor others who are new in the communications field.
At 37, she has big goals ahead of her and looks forward to this new chapter of her career.
